Be an art MAKER at Awesome Art Day on Saturday, January 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Victor Primary School cafeteria and auditorium. Awesome Art is a free, fun, family art enrichment event. Visit a variety of free art stations from beads to clay and more. You may even win a door prize raffle! Pizza and snacks will be for sale, and you can also Make-A-Plate to help raise funds for PIE. Also, PTSA Harlem Wizards game tickets available for purchase. Getting in shape for the holidays? Interested in finding out how to improve your and your family’s health and wellness? Stop by the 2016 PTSA Health Fair and Wellness Spectacular: Tricks and Treats for Healthy Living, Thursday, November 3, 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Victor Jr-Sr High Cafeteria and Gym. It’s free for all ages. Fill your passport by visiting every table, each with a raffle prize. The grand passport raffle prize is a 1-Year Family Membership at Pinnacle Athletic Campus, valued at $1,440.
A new round of beginner computer coding classes for kids in grades 4-6 starts on Tuesday, November 1. Students will learn programming by creating their own interactive stories, games, animations, and websites. The classes involve self-paced lessons based on skills (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Returning students will pick up from where they left off. Space is limited. Register for the class through the website on the flyer below.
Are you interested in: Performing in a play? Illustrating a story? Creating a digital project? Victor Farmington Library is holding a workshop for children in grades 2-6 the first three Saturday mornings in November.
In workshop sessions children will perform a script based on a folktale. The audio performance of the play will be recorded. Children will then illustrate scenes from the story. The audio recording and illustrations of the folktale will be combined with music and title & ending credits to create a short digital video.
